Manchester United can “fulfil” all of Jadon Sancho’s dreams, once the winger completes a move to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have made no secret of making signing Jadon Sancho their number one priority this summer.
Various reports have offered updates on the ever-changing situation, with one source revealing how Man Utd could structure the huge deal.
However, Dortmund have moved to play down talk of an imminent transfer for the winger.
The Bundesliga side are refusing to budge on their £108m valuation of Sancho and have poured cold water on a deal being close.
Dortmund’s managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke said: “So far, there has been no contact between Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United in terms of Sancho.”
His statement is qualified with: “Also not indirectly or through alleged intermediaries.”
Those sentiments are echoed by Dortmund’s sporting director, Michael Zorc. He even hinted the club expect Sancho to attend their impending training camp.
“I assume that Jadon will go to the training camp on Monday and play with us for the coming season,” said Zorc.
However, former United player Keith Gillespie still expects the move to go through.
He is adamant that Sancho’s move to the Red Devils can also propel him to become a “world superstar”.
“He’s a fantastic player and still very young,” Gillespie told Sky Sports.
“He’s done fantastically well in Germany, but he wants to come to the Premier League.
“Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world. No disrespect to Dortmund, they are a massive club as well but are not Manchester United.
“You come to a club like Manchester United to fulfil all your dreams, he’ll want to be a world superstar.”
Solskjaer provides small Sancho update
Questions over their bid to sign Sancho were also fired at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Wednesday night.
Asked how difficult the deal will be to sign the England forward from Dortmund, Solskjaer was not giving much away.
“Well, we’re looking into all transfers differently. I’m not going to speak about individuals that are not our players,” he said.
“I’ve got no news, no update. We’ll update you if something happens.”
The United manager also admitted his regrets over Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean will make a permanent move to Inter Milan on Thursday.
